Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state :-
(a) the number of athletes inducted into Khelo India programmes during the last three years,
discipline-wise;
(b) the number of athletes who exited the programme during this period and the reasons for their
exiting;
(c) whether performance benchmarks were revised for retention;
(d) if so, the details thereof;
(e) how transitions from junior to senior levels are being tracked; and
(f) the outcomes achieved in national and international competitions?

(a) Discipline-wise number of athletes inducted into Khelo India Scheme during the last three years
are at Annexure – I.
(b) A total of 1,342 athletes have exited the programme during the last three years due to
performance below the prescribed benchmarks and involvement in doping violations.
(c) And (d) Yes, performance benchmarks are revised annually and are updated on the Khelo India
website from time to time. The details in this regard are available at
https://kheloindia.gov.in/latestnews.html.
(e) Athlete performance is mapped and measured annually as per the prescribed protocols and in
assessment camps.
(f) Outcomes achieved in national and international competitions are at Annexure – II.
