Will the Minister of HEALTHAND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleased tostate:
(a) the number of persons aged above 70 years enrolled under the Ayushman Bharat -
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) in the country and in the State of
Karnataka,district-wise;
(b) whether the Government proposes to enhance the existing insurance coverage limit of 5
lakhperfamilyperannum underthe scheme,if so, the detailsthereof;
(c) whether the Government has any plan to include high-end life-saving procedures and
implantsunderthe scheme which are not includedso far,if so, the detailsthereof;
(d) the amount of funds released under AB-PMJAY to the State of Karnataka during the last
three yearsIncludingthe current year;and
(e) whether certain Statesin the countryhave not adopted the revised packagerates underthe
scheme, if so, the details thereof, along with the reasons and the corrective steps takenby the
Government inthisregard?
ANSWER

(a) to (e): As on 28.02.2026, a total of 1.14 crore Ayushman Vay Vandana cards have been
created for senior citizens aged 70 years and above across the country under Ayushman
Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), including 2.14 lakh cards created
in the State of Karnataka. The district-wise details of cards created in the State of Karnataka
can be accessed at https://dashboard.nha.gov.in/public/card . There is no proposal under
consideration to increase the insurance coverage limit under the scheme. The funding ofAB-
PMJAY is entirely demand driven. Funds are released for scheme implementation to the
States/UTs onthe basis of demandreceivedfrom the States/UTs andsubmission of utilization
certificatesforpreviousreleases.The detailsof fund released tothe State of Karnataka during the last three years includingthe
currentyearunderthescheme areasunder:

Since the launch of the scheme, the health benefit packages have been revised five times.
Initially, the scheme included1391 packages.The latest Health Benefit Package (HBP)2022,
now comprises 1,961 packages across 27 specialties. These packages cover treatments for
chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease and other non-communicable diseases, etc. as
well as high-end procedures including bone marrow transplant, cardiac surgeries and kidney
transplantation,etc.
As on 28.02.2026,26 States/UTs have adoptedthe latest HealthBenefit Package(HBP)2022.
Further, States/UTsare encouragedtoadopt the latest packagemaster.
