In response to Unstarred Question No. 2347 in Lok Sabha, to be answered on February 13th, 2026, regarding PET-CT scan facilities at PGIMER Chandigarh, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Shri. Prataprao Jadhav) stated that PET-CT scan facilities at PGIMER Chandigarh are available and functional. Since March 2024, over 20,000 patients, including both malignant and non-malignant cases, have undergone PET-CT scans at the institute. PGIMER Chandigarh has an onsite Cyclotron installed in 2009, which generates many essential radiopharmaceuticals used for PET-CT imaging. Certain radiopharmaceuticals are procured based on demand from suppliers licensed by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) in accordance with General Financial Rules (GFR), 2017, and extant guidelines on procurement of Goods and Services issued by the Government of India.
