DR. RAJEEVBHARADWAJ: Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate: (a) whether the Government proposes to launch PM Shri Air Ambulance Service (PM-SAAS) in HimachalPradesh,if so, the detailsthereof; and (b) whether this service is likely to be provided free of cost to the Ayushman Bharat cardholders if so,the detailsthereof? ANSWER THE MINISTEROFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) & (b): ‘Public Health’ and ‘Hospital’ are State subject, the primary responsibility of strengthening public healthcare system, including adequately equipped ambulances, especially for emergency care network, lies with the respective State/UT Governments. Under National Health Mission (NHM), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) provides the technical and financial support tothe States/UTs tostrengthen theirpublic healthcaresystem including ambulances based on the requirements posed by States/UTs in their Programme Implementation Plans(PIPs) and within the overallresource envelope. As per the information provided by the State Government of Himachal Pradesh, there is no proposal tolaunchthe PMShriAmbulance Service(PM-SAAS)underNHM inthe State andthere is nosuch componentunderNational Ambulance ServicesunderNHM. *****
