PM SHRI in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh
3870. Dr. C M Ramesh:
Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that forty schools in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh have been
selected as PM-SHRI schools;
(b) if so, the details thereof along with the funds allocated, released and utilized, school-wise;
(c) the details of PM SHRI schools that are equipped with science labs, ICT-enabled smart
classrooms, library, furniture and playground, smart boards;
(d) whether all schools have LED lighting, composting facilities and medicinal gardens to create
eco-friendly green schools; and
(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes, a total of 40 schools have been selected as PM SHRI from the district of
Anakapalli in Andhra Pradesh out of which 30 schools are secondary and 10 schools are senior
secondary. The details of these PM SHRI schools may be accessed on the website of PM SHRI
scheme at the link: https://pmshri.education.gov.in/state. Further, as informed by the State of
Andhra Pradesh, the school-wise details of funds allocated, released and utilized in FY 2023-24,
FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26 for these schools are attached as Annexure.
(c) to (e): In alignment with the National Education Policy, 2020, PM SHRI scheme has a
provision to saturate these PM SHRI schools with 21 NEP components such as computer lab/ICT
lab/smart classrooms, library with good furniture, internet facility, vocational skill education,
guidance and career counselling, fully equipped integrated science lab/physics lab/chemistry
lab/biology lab, playground with well-equipped sports facilities, school innovation council, youth
and eco club for mission life, Building as Learning Aid (BaLa) features and jaadui pitara for
primary school children, 10 bagless days for students, child tracking software for tracking the
children attendance, fully functioning handwashing facility and toilets, green school features etc.
These PM SHRI schools are to showcase all the initiatives of National Education Policy (NEP)
2020, be the exemplar schools, and also offer benchmarking leadership to other schools in the
neighbourhood.
As informed by the State of Andhra Pradesh, all the 40 PM SHRI schools in Anakapalli
district are equipped with science labs, ICT-enabled smart classrooms, library, furniture,
playgrounds, and smart boards. Further, all the 40 PM SHRI schools in Anakapalli district have
LED lighting, composting facilities and medicinal gardens as part of the green school initiatives
to create environmentally sustainable practices and experiential learning among students.
