Dr. Rajeev Bharadwaj: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether new roads have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Nurpur Assembly Constituency, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh; (b) if so, the details thereof; and (c) the number of rural roads constructed under the said yojana so far? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a) to (c): Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) is being implemented by the Government of India since the year 2000 as a one-time special intervention to provide rural connectivity, by way of a single all-weather road, to the eligible unconnected habitations of the designated population as laid out in the program guidelines. Since inception, under various verticals of PMGSY, a total of 4,170 road works of 26,505 km length and 147 bridges have been sanctioned to the State of Himachal Pradesh.
