ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE
कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR)
(a): Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY), a central sector scheme,
is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the entry age group of 18 to 40
years with a provision of minimum monthly assured pension of ₹3000/- on attaining the
age of 60 years, subject to exclusion criteria. The Scheme aims to create a social
security net for the small and marginal farmers, who own cultivable land upto 2
hectares as per the land records of the concerned State/UT, during their old age. Theamount of the monthly contribution ranges between ₹55 to ₹200 per month depending
upon the entry age of the farmers into the Scheme. Govt. of India also provides
matching contribution in the pension account of the farmers. The Life Insurance
Corporation (LIC) of India is the fund manager for the Scheme.
(b) to (d): Under PM-KMY, 80,981 farmers are enrolled from the State of
Maharashtra including 1870 in Latur district, 2595 in Ahilyanagar district, and 2609 in
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Further, 1,19,459 farmers are enrolled from the
State of Madhya Pradesh, including 846 in Khandwa district, and 289 farmers are
registered from The Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.
Various steps are taken to expand the coverage of PM-KMY Scheme in the rural
and remote areas of all States/UTs including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and The
Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. As per the guidelines of the Scheme,
the Common Service Centers (CSCs) are nominated for the enrollments of the farmers
under the Scheme and a dedicated portal for PM-KMY Scheme has been created by
the CSC to ensure smooth operations under the Scheme. CSCs mobilize farmers,
disseminate information and create awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Kisan
Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY), and facilitate enrolment of eligible farmers. Further,
States/Union Territories are advised from time to time to undertake outreach activities
for wider awareness of Government schemes and to maximize enrolment of eligible
farmers under PMKMY.
