GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF JAL SHAKTI DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES, RIVER DEVELOPMENT & GANGA REJUVENATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 3447 ANSWERED ON 23.03.2026 PRADHAN MANTRI KRISHI SINCHAYEE YOJANA 3447. # Ms. INDU BALA GOSWAMI: Will the Minister of Jal Shakti be pleased to state: (a) the amount sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana for the Financial Year 2023-24; (b) the cost-sharing ratio between the Central and State Governments for implementing the said scheme; and (c) the cost-sharing ratio for the North-Eastern States and hilly States? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) Central assistance provided during financial year 2023-24 under different components of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) is as follows. Sl.No. Component of PMKSY Central Assistance provided (Rs. Crore) 1. Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP) with 1,508.25 pari-passu Command Area Development and Water Management (CAD&WM) 2. Surface Minor Irrigation and Repair, Renovation and 811.19 Restoration of Water Bodies (SMI and RRR) 3. Watershed Development Component (WDC)* 1,661.43 *Implemented by Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development. (b) & (c) Cost sharing ratio between Central and State Government under different components of PMKSY are given below. Sl. Category Funding Ratio (Centre: No. State) AIBP SMI RRR WDC 1. Projects in 8 North-Eastern States (including Sikkim) and 2 Himalayan 90:10 States (Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) 2. Projects benefitting special area in other general category States, i.e., 60:40 command under Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP) & Desert Development Programme (DDP), Tribal area, Flood prone area, Left Wing Extremist area, Bundelkhand, Vidarbha, Marathwada and KBK districts of Odisha 3. Projects in general category States benefitting areas other than at (2) above 25:75 - 60:40 60:40 Further, 100% central assistance is provided to the Union Territories without legislature under SMI and RRR, whereas funding ratio for Union Territories with legislature under these components is 90 (Centre): 10 (State). 100% central assistance is provided to Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under WDC. *****
