Parliament Question: Prescribed Formulations in Drugs/Medicines

GOVERNMENTOFINDIA MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE DEPARTMENTOFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE LOK SABHA UNSTARREDQUESTION NO. 1128 TO BE ANSWERED ON24THJULY, 2026 PRESCRIBED FORMULATIONSIN DRUGS/MEDICINES 1128.SHRIT RBAALU: Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate: (a) whether the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation has recently declared that 53 drugs/medicines used by people on a daily basis are unfit for consumption as they do not confirm tothe prescribed quality standards formulations, if so, the detailsthereof; and (b) the actiontakenbythe Government against the errant drug manufacturers? ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SMT. ANUPRIYAPATEL) (a)& (b): List of batches of certain drugs of various companies, which are declared Not of Standard Quality/ Spurious/ Misbranded/ Adulterated by the Central Drugs Testing Laboratories is regularly uploaded and available on the website of Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) under the heading of Drug Alert (www.cdsco.gov.in). In the cases concerning quality or safety of drugs as and when reported, action is taken by the licensing authoritiesconcerned underthe provisions of Drugs andCosmetics Act 1940 andits Rulesincludingprosecution inthe appropriate Court of law. *******
