BYREDDY SHABARI : Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) the number and details of minority heritage sites, places of worship, and pilgrimage sites identified for preservation, restoration, or development under any Government schemes during the last ten years, State/UT-wise; (b) the details of the funds sanctioned, released and utilised for such projects during the said period, State/UT and year-wise; (c) the number and details of the proposals received from various States for such preservation or development along with their current status such as approved, pending or rejected; and (d) whether the Government proposes to introduce a dedicated scheme for the preservation, restoration and promotion of minority heritage sites, places of worship and pilgrimage destinations and if so, the details and the timeline thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) There are 3685 centrally protected monuments/sites under the jurisdiction of & Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the country including minority heritage (b) sites, places of worships and pilgrimage sites. Conservation and preservation of these monuments/sites is a regular process and is taken up as per the requirement and availability of resources subject to the guidelines of National Policy for Conservation, 2014. Details of the funds allocated and expenditure incurred on conservation, preservation and development of these monuments/sites are given at Annexure-I. (c) ASI undertakes preservation, restoration & promotions of centrally protected & monuments from funds allocated by the Government of India.
