RANI SRIKUMAR SHRI SELVAM G: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष और िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has implemented the Price Support Scheme (PSS) in Tamil Nadu for procurement of notified agricultural commodities at Minimum Support Price (MSP), if so, the details thereof; (b) the details of commodities covered under the Scheme, quantity procured and funds allocated, released and utilised in Tamil Nadu during the last three years and the current year, district-wise; (c) the number of farmers benefited under the Scheme in the State, commodity and year- wise; (d) whether the Government has received complaints regarding delays in procurement, inadequate procurement centres and delayed payments to farmers in Tamil Nadu, if so, the corrective measures taken thereon; and (e) the steps taken to strengthen procurement infrastructure, expand coverage and ensure remunerative prices to farmers in Tamil Nadu under the Price Support Scheme? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a) to (e) : The Price Support Scheme (PSS) under PM-AASHA is implemented on the request of State Government for procurement of Prescribed Fair Average Quality (FAQ) of notified pulses (Arhar, Moong, Urad, Gram and Masur), oil seeds (Groundnut, Soybean, Sunflower, Sesamum, Nigerseed, Rapeseed/Mustard-seed and Safflower) and Copra (Ball copra & Milling Copra) at Minimum Support Price (MSP) through designated Central Nodal Agencies(CNAs). During last three years, in Tamil Nadu, under PSS, Moong, Urad and Copra have been procured. MSP Payment is made directly to the farmers' bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism by CNAs. The losses, if any, incurred in the implementation of the Scheme are reimbursed to the CNAs in accordance with the Scheme guidelines. The details of commodities wise quantity procured, MSP value paid to farmers and the number of farmers benefitted in Tamil Nadu during the last three years and current year is placed at Annexure. As per Government of Tamil Nadu, no complaints have been received regarding delays in procurement, inadequacy of procurement centres or delay in payment to farmers under PSS.
