Parliament Question: Prime Minister's Internship Scheme in Madhya Pradesh

Anita Nagarsingh Chouhan Will the Minister of CORPORATE AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the target fixed and achievements made so far under the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme to provide practical training to youth in industries and reputed companies across the country; (b) the number of youth selected under the said scheme in the country as well as in Madhya Pradesh during the last two years along with the number of youth who have completed their internship and who secured permanent or contractual based employment; (c) whether the Government is contemplating running any special campaign to connect maximum youth with the scheme and increase the participation of local industries and establishments in Ratlam-Jhabua-Alirajpur Parliamentary Constituency of Madhya Pradesh which is a tribal-dominated and aspirational region; and (d) if so, the details thereof including the tentative timeline therefor? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS AND MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS [SHRI HARSH MALHOTRA] (a) & (b): Presently the Pilot Project of the PM Internship Scheme is under implementation. It is targeted to provide 1.25 lakh internship opportunities to theyouth. Details of internship opportunities posted by the companies, number of youth who received internship offers, joined & completed internship in Round I, Round II and Round III of the PMIS Pilot Project across the country as well as in Madhya Pradesh is attached at Annexure. The process of selection and joining in Round III is ongoing. The PM Internship Scheme is designed to enhance industry-relevant skills, improve job readiness, and foster professional exposure through structured internships in India’s top-performing companies and institutions to create job ready, skilled work force. The scheme is not designed to provide permanent or contractual based employment. (c) & (d): The Ministry of Corporate Affairs is actively working with various stakeholders such as state governments, central government ministries & departments, and industry associations for promotion and implementation of the scheme. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has undertaken a focused outreach campaign to maximize youth participation across the State, including in the districts of Ratlam, Jhabua and Alirajpur. The initiatives include spreading awareness through social media and institutional outreach, district-level monitoring by the District Collectors, mobilization through Government ITIs, and special registration drives. Further, as per the revised Guidelines of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) – Pilot Project, issued on 12.03.2026, companies nominated by the state government, as well as selected MSMEs through Sectoral Associations are also eligible to participate under the PMIS Pilot Project. ******Annexure Annexure to the Lok Sabha Unstarred Q.
