SHRI NARAYAN TATU RANE: Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण मं(cid:361)ी be pleased to state: (a) the details of annual cashew production along with its by-products in the Konkan region; (b) whether the Government proposes any special scheme for their processing; and (c) the steps being taken by the Government to benefit the farmers from the above? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE कृ िष एवं िकसान क(cid:670)ाण रा(cid:475) मं(cid:361)ी (SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR) (a): Horticulture production data is maintained State-wise and not Region-wise. However, the Konkan Region extends across the coastal regions in the States of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. As per the 2025-26 (Second Advance Estimates), the annual cashew production is estimated at 266.48 Thousand Tonnes in Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. Maharashtra contributes 182.79 Thousand Tonnes, whereas Karnataka and Goa account for 65.82 Thousand Tonnes and 17.87 Thousand Tonnes, respectively. No separate production details of cashew by- products are maintained at the level of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. (b) & (c): The Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development (DCCD), Kochi, Kerala, implements Cashew Development Programmes under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to enhance area, productivity, value addition and dissemination of advanced technologies in the field. Under post-harvest and primary processing, DCCD supports establishment and upgradation of primary processing units for drying, grading and minimal processing of cashew. Financial assistance is provided as per the MIDH norms @35% of the capital cost subject to a maximum of Rs. 12.25 Lakhs. Under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) Detailed Project Report (DPR) component, the cashew production and processing are supported as per the State demand. The primary processing units for cashew are supported under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) with 3% interest subvention and credit guarantee to the beneficiaries. *****
