ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM
(SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT)
(a) The National Culture Fund (NCF) has identified approximately 250 heritage
conservation projects and showcased them on its website for mobilization of voluntary
contributions under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and other philanthropic
initiatives. The projects relating to (i) removal and resetting of approach steps to the Hill Fort
at Udayagiri and (ii) removal and resetting of ancient flooring inside the Ranganayakula
temple in Udayagiri, in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, are also among them.
(b) The projects are displayed on the NCF website to facilitate support from prospective
CSR donors and other philanthropists. Their implementation is dependent upon the interest
and willingness of prospective donors to support the projects. As on date, no CSR donor has
confirmed financial support for these two projects.
(c) The estimated cost for the execution of the said two projects is Rs.7.25 crores.
However, the final scope and cost of each project may vary depending upon the requirements
of the donor and the technical assessment of the Archaeological Survey of India.
(d) To mobilize resources, NCF hosts project details on its portal to enable prospective
donors to identify projects based on location, heritage significance, thematic interest and level
of financial commitment. However, NCF is open to accept CSR contributions and donations
from donors for work required at other monuments also, as per the interest and willingness of
the donor.
