GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CULTURE LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 69 TO BE ANSWERED ON 21.07.2025 PROJECTS UNDER THE SCHEME FOR PROMOTION OF CULTURE OF SCIENCE 69. DR. BACHHAV SHOBHA DINESH: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) the details of the total number of projects sanctioned/proposed by the Government under the scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science across the country, project and State-wise, particularly in Maharashtra; (b) the details of the total number of projects sanctioned/proposed by the Government under the scheme for Support to Tribal Research Institutes across the country, project and State- wise, particularly in Maharashtra; (c) the details of the total number of projects sanctioned/proposed under the Museum Grant Scheme under the Umbrella Schemes/ component of Development of Museums across the country, project and State-wise, particularly in Maharashtra; (d) the progress of completion of these projects along with the total funds sanctioned, disbursed and utilized, project and scheme-wise, for Maharashtra; (e) whether the Government has received any proposals from State Government of Maharashtra or any Member of Parliament for same, particularly Nashik, Dhule or Malegaon during the last five years; and (f) if so, the details thereof along with action taken by the Government thereon?ANSWER MINISTER OF CULTURE & TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a): The total number of approved projects state-wise for setting up of Science Centre/City/ Innovation Hub/Digital Planetarium taken up by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) under the Scheme for Promotion of Culture of Science (SPoCS) of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India is listed at Annexure-‘A’. (b): Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme 'Support to Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs)' extends financial support to 29 Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) in States/Union Territories (UTs) including Tribal Research Institute Maharashtra on the basis of the Annual Action Plan submitted by the States/UTs subject to the approval of the Apex Committee chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The details of the projects sanctioned under the scheme may be seen at the official website of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. (c): The details of total number of approved projects state-wise under the Museum Grant Scheme (MGS) are at Annexure ‘B’. (d): The progress of completion of projects along with the total funds sanctioned, disbursed and utilized, project and scheme-wise, for Maharashtra, is at Annexure-C. (e) to (f): Yes. A letter dated 02nd December, 2024 from the Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Nashik, Shri Rajabhau Parag Prakash Waje was received regarding the establishment of a World Class Science Centre in Nashik.
