PROTECTION AGAINST AI-GENERATED CONTENT

Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state:
(a) whether Government has assessed AI-generated content’s impact on
creative industries regarding the unauthorised use of Indian artists’
works for training AI systems without consent/compensation;
(b) the details of regulatory framework or legislative measures protecting
intellectual property, moral rights and economic interests from AI
content;
(c) whether international best practices regarding AI regulation in creative
sectors have been examined for India’s adaptation;
(d) whether consultations were held with stakeholders regarding
mandatory AI disclosure requirements for content derived from Indian
cultural heritage; and
(e) whether Ministry would establish mechanism to monitor and take action
against unauthorised AI-generated content infringing cultural and
intellectual property rights?

(a) to (e) No, Sir. The Ministry of Culture does not administer any regulatory
framework presently on the AI-generated content. The Ministry of
Culture addresses related cultural issues only on a case-by-case basis
within its mandate.
