SHRI SUKHENDU SEKHAR RAY: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) the details of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monuments in West Bengal; (b) the details of such monuments that are ticketed; (c) the passenger footfall in such monuments and the revenue generated since 2023, year- wise, monument-wise and district-wise; and (d) the funds released and utilised by ASI towards conservation and maintenance of such monuments since 2023, year-wise and monument-wise? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a) to (d) A Statement is laid on the table of the HouseSTATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO PART (a) TO (d) OF RAJYA SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 211 FOR 12.03.2026 RAISED BY SHRI SUKHENDU SEKHAR RAY, HON’BLE MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT REGARDING PROTECTION OF MONUMENTS IN WEST BENGAL (a) There are 135 monuments and archaeological sites and remains declared as of national importance in the State of West Bengal, which are maintained by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The details are given at Annexure-I. (b)&(c) There are 04 protected monuments in the State of West Bengal under Archeological Survey of India where entry fee is charged. The details including footfall and revenue collected out of sale of entry ticket are given at Annexure-II. (d) The conservation and maintenance of protected monuments and protected areas (sites) is carried out as per requirement, priority and availability of resources, which is a regular phenomenon, following the National Conservation Policy, 2014.
