Will the Minister of RAILWAYS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has approved any new railway line/railway
project to connect Shravasti district with the railway network in
view of the fact that it is still completely deprived of railway
connection and if so, the present status of the said project, its total
estimated cost and the details of work completed so far;
(b) whether land acquisition, construction works, station development
and other technical works under this project have been completed
or are in progress and if so, the details and the proposed timeline
when railway services are expected to commence; and
(c) whether there is any proposal to provide railway connectivity to
areas adjoining Shravasti district including regions bordering the
Subelwa Forest area with a view to promoting regional
development, tourism and employment and if so, the details
thereof?

new line project (240 Km) has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹4940 crore to
augment the railway network in the district Shravasti.
The project has been notified as “Special Railway Project” for acquisition
of land through State Government. Execution of the work has been planned

in 3 phases i.e. Khalilabad-Bansi (54 Km), Bansi-Shravasti (113 Km) and
Shravasti-Bahraich (73 Km). The project consists of 32 stations namely
Khalilabad, Bhagauli, Bakhira, Medhawal, Pasai, Khesraha, Bansi,
Ramwanpur, Bhagobhar, Tikaria, Domariyaganj, Dhankharpur, Banjarha,
Chirkutiha, Utraula, Kapauasherpur, Sridatganj, Mahesh Bhari, Khagaijot,
Balrampur, Jharkhandi, Hasuwal Dol, Shravasti, Ikauna, Luxmanpur,
Bishunapur, Bhinga, Hariharpur, Bardehra, Dhuswa, Ajatapur and Bahraich.
All these stations are planned with modern facilities.
The Suhelwa forest is about 40 Km away from the alignment of the project.
Major section-wise progress is as under:
