Undergraduate (UG) seats have increased from 88,120 to 1,28,976, and postgraduate (PG) seats have increased from 55,595 to 85,020. The Minimum Standard Requirements (MSR) Regulations, 2023, issued by the NMC, provide for the establishment of a Department of Yoga in medical institutions. Yoga has been included as a competency in the Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) Guidelines 2024 for MBBS. Medical institutions have been directed to promote Yoga Day.
