Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate:
(a)the numberof beneficiaries registered andthe numberof hospitals empanelled under
the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) currently across the country, particularly in the
Stateof Bihar;
(b) whether it has come to the notice of Government that the availability of cashless treatment
under CGHS in the State of Bihar is limited, as compared to various other States of the country,
if so, the steps takentostrengthen the same; and
(c) whether after revision of CGHS package rates, beneficiaries across the country and in the
Stateof Bihar are requiredtomake additionalpaymentsat hospitals?
ANSWER

(a)to(c) The total numberof beneficiariesregistered underthe Central Government Health
Scheme (CGHS) across the country are 43,67,202. The total number of empanelled Health Care
Organizations (HCOs) underCGHS are 2,824 across the country. There are 62,053 beneficiaries,
and66 empanelledHCOs respectively, inBihar underthe scheme.
Central Government pensioners and other eligible beneficiaries, along with their
dependents having a CGHS Card can avail cashless services at CGHS empanelled hospitals and
diagnostic centres.
After revision of CGHS package rates, the empaneled hospitals charge as per rates
prescribed in the latest rate list of the CGHS issued vide OM No. 5-
16/CGHS(HQ)/HEC/2024(PartI) dated 03.10.2025. No additional payment over and above the
prescribed rate,isrequiredto be made bythe beneficiariesat anyCGHS empaneled facilities.
