SHRI RAMJI LAL SUMAN: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state: (a) the number of new vehicles registered in Delhi-NCR during the last three years and the quantum of pollution being caused by them in Delhi-NCR; and (b) whether Government propose to introduce a separate policy for vehicle registration in Delhi- NCR to help in controlling pollution? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) The number of new vehicles registered in last three years in Delhi-NCR are as under: Calander Year Total Number of vehicles registered 2023 18,94,591 2024 21,09,453 2025 23,18,486 Further, vehicular pollution as per published reports of NITI Aayog, accounted for about 12% of national CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion in 2021. (b) No such proposal is under consideration. *****
