MEENAKSHI JAIN: Will the Minister of CULTURE be pleased to state: (a) whether it is a fact that rules in regard to construction, repairs or renovations of protected monuments and prohibited areas by ASI have recently been changed; (b) if so, the details thereof; and (c) since when the above amendment have come into force? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF CULTURE AND TOURISM (SHRI GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT) (a)to There has been no recent change in the statutory rules governing construction, repair or (c) renovation to be taken up in prohibited and regulated areas with respect to protected monuments and protected areas. Such activities continue to be regulated in accordance with the provisions of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 as amended in the year 2010. *****
