Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION
be pleased to state:-
(a) whether Air India followed all mandated safety checks and
maintenance protocols for Flight AI-171 before its crash on 12th June,
2025 at Ahmedabad including compliance with the 2018 FAA advisory on
fuel control switch disengagement and if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the expert committee constituted for the investigation of the
said crash includes senior Boeing 787 pilots, aviation safety experts and
independent technical specialists and if so, the details of the composition
and qualifications of its members;
(c) the steps taken by the Government to ensure transparency and
impartiality in the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB)'s
investigation, particularly in light of concerns over premature attribution
of pilot error in the preliminary report dated 12th July, 2025; and
(d) the measures being taken to expedite the final AAIB report which is
due by 12th June, 2026 and to introduce interim safety recommendations
for Boeing 787 operators and GE GEnx-1B engine manufacturers?

(a) to (d): An investigation has been ordered by the Director General,
Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under Rule 11 of the Aircraft
(Investigation of Accidents & Incidents) Rules, 2017 to determine the
probable cause(s)/contributory factor(s) leading to accident of Air India
flight AI-171 at Ahmedabad on 12.06.2025. Investigation conducted under
these Rules and as per International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)
Annex 13, is fair, impartial and judicious.;;
A preliminary report has been published on AAIB website at
www.aaib.gov.in. The preliminary report was based on the available
factual information and does not contain any conclusion.;

Further investigation is under progress to determine the probable
cause(s)/contributory factor(s) leading to accident.;
