Will the Ministerof HEALTH AND FAMILYWELFAREbe pleasedtostate :
(a) the details of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) set up in the country, State-wise,
particularlyinthe Washim-YavatmalParliamentary Constituency, Maharashtra;
(b) the detailsof the health services beingprovidedinthe said centres;
(c) whether the Government has conducted any review of the said centres and if so, the details
thereof; and
(d) whether the Government has formulated any new national action plan to reduce the Maternal
Mortality Rate (MMR) andinfant mortality rate inthe countryandif so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): As reported by States/UTs on Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) portal, 1,86,298
AAMs have been operationalized by strengthening Sub-health Centres (SHCs) and Primary
Health Centres (PHCs) in the country, as on 30.06.2026. State/UT-wise number of AAMs
operationalized across the country including Maharashtra is enclosed as Annexure. 166 AAMs
in Washim district and 472 AAMs in Yavatmal district have been operationalized in Washim-
Yavatmal ParliamentaryConstituency of Maharashtra.
The AAMs deliver 12 package of primary health care services across the country, encompassing
Reproductive and child care services, Communicable diseases, Non Communicable diseases
(NCD), Palliative Care and elderly Care, Care for common mental disorders, neurological
conditions(epilepsy,dementia)andsubstanceusedisordersmanagement(tobacco,alcohol,drugs),
Oral health, ENT care, and Basic emergency care. To complement the expanded services, the
essential list of drugs & diagnostics has been expanded to make available 179 drugs & 63
1diagnosticsatPHC-AAMsand113drugs&14diagnosticsatSHC-AAMsinthecountry.
The recent evaluation of the AAM programme conducted by NITI Aayog highlights several
encouraging outcomes, including significant improvements in service delivery and increased
community footfall because of wider access to Comprehensive Primary Health Care services.
These gains have been primarily driven by strengthened NCD management, enhanced general
OPDservicesandavailabilityoffreemedicines&diagnosticsclosertothehomesofpeople.These
interventionshavecollectivelycontributedtoa gradualreductioninout-of-pocket expenditurefor
healthcare.
(d): The Government of India has undertaken various initiatives under NHM to reduce the
Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate in the country. Key measures are as
follows:
Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK):
Promote institutional deliveries andprovide free, cashless delivery (including caesarean),
diagnostics, drugs, diet, transport and blood transfusion in public health facilities, with
similar benefitsfor sick infants.
Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA): Provides free, assured
antenatal check-ups by Specialists/Medical Officers on the 9th of every month, with
emphasis onidentification andmanagementof high-risk pregnancies.
Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan (SUMAN): Ensures assured, dignified, respectful and
quality healthcareat nocost with zero tolerance for denial of services topregnant women
andnewborns.
PostnatalCare Initiatives: Strengthenearlydetection, referral andmanagement of high-
risk postpartum mothersthrough ASHAsupport.
Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB): Addresses anemia among children, adolescents, women
ofreproductiveage,pregnantandlactatingwomenthroughalifecycleapproach.
Nutrition and Child Health Interventions: Include Mothers’ Absolute Affection
(MAA), Lactation Management Centres, Vitamin A supplementation, Home-Based
Newborn Care (HBNC)/Home-Based Care for Young Child Programme (HBYC) and
Mission Poshan2.0.
