Parliament Question: Review of the aircraft accidents in the country

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 175 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 2nd February 2026 REVIEW OF THE AIRCRAFT ACCIDENTS IN THE COUNTRY 175. SHRI SUBHASISH KHUNTIA Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether Government has reviewed the aircraft accidents and serious aviation incidents reported in the country during the last one year; (b) if so, the broad categories of causes identified for such accidents and incidents, including human error, technical faults, weather related factors and infrastructure limitations, as per assessments of the DGCA and AAIB; and (c) if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (c): Yes, all aircraft accidents and serious incidents reported in the country during the last one year have been reviewed by Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB). Investigations are carried out as per International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 13 and in accordance with the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2025. Total 19 number of accidents/serious incidents have occurred in last one year which are being investigated by AAIB. Investigation for one serious incident has been completed and the report has been published on the AAIB website. Remaining other accidents/incidents are under investigation. ******
