RAKIBUL HUSSAIN Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has taken any steps to expedite the execution of the Climate Resilient Brahmaputra Integrated Flood and Riverbank Erosion Risk Management Project in Assam, specifically for Goalpara and Dhubri; (b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; (c) whether the Government has any estimated timeline for the execution of the said project in the Dhubri district which has an estimated project cost of Rs. 22027.63 lakh; and (d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR JAL SHAKTI (SHRI RAJ BHUSHAN CHOUDHARY) (a) to (d) Flood management and anti-erosion schemes are formulated and implemented by concerned State Governments as per their priority. The Union Government supplements the efforts of the States by providing technical guidance and also promotional financial assistance for management of floods in critical areas. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the scheme viz "Climate Resilient Brahmaputra Integrated Flood and Riverbank Erosion Risk Management Project (CRBIFRERMP) in Assam-Goalpara Dhubri sub project (Zone- D)" funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) with an estimated cost of Rs. 542.93 Сг was appraised by Central Water Commission (CWC) and approved in the 154th meeting of Advisory Committee of Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD & GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) held in December 2023.
