GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4245 ANSWERED ON – 01/04/2026 ROAD CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN TELANGANA AND CHHATTISGARH 4245. SHRI RAVI CHANDRA VADDIRAJU: Will the Minister of ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS be pleased to state: a) whether Government has received any proposal or conducted a feasibility study to upgrade the road connectivity from Khammam to Bhadrachalam and further towards Bastar into a four-lane National Highway corridor to improve connectivity between Telangana and tribal regions of Chhattisgarh; b) whether Government considers this corridor important for logistics, tourism and pilgrimage to Bhadrachalam Temple and socio-economic development of tribal areas; and c) whether there is a proposal to upgrade the existing two-lane road under Bharatmala Pariyojana or any other programme and the details of alignment, estimated cost, timeline and present status of approval? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS (SHRI NITIN JAIRAM GADKARI) (a) to (c) Khammam to Bhadrachalam is connected via National Highways NH 365BB (Khammam to Penuballi) and NH 30 (Penuballi to Bhadrachalam) in the State of Telangana. Thereafter, NH-30 traverses through State of Andhra Pradesh (Bhadrachalam to Konta) and further towards Bastar in the State of Chhattisgarh. Considering the socio-economic importance, upgradation of NH 30 in the State of Telangana to two/ four lanes with paved shoulders has been substantially completed (around 50 Km completed and progress is 82% in 44 Km). Further, development of NH 30 to two lane with paved shoulder from Bhadrachalam to Konta traversing through the State of Andhra Pradesh has also been substantially completed (progress 95% in 64 Km length).Bids for appointment of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) consultant for four-laning of the Khammam– Penuballi section of NH 365BB has been invited. Consultants for preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for four-laning of NH-30 from Penuballi to Bhadrachalam and DPR for the stretch between Konta and Jagdalpur (Keshloor) section of NH-30 in the State of Chhattisgarh have already been appointed. *****
