Shri Biplab Kumar Deb: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the manner in which the Ministry plans to address the specific needs of rural areas in different States and UTs through various schemes of the Ministry; (b) whether there are any plans to introduce new schemes for rural development particularly in the State of Tripura; (c) whether there is any proposal to improve the allocation of funds to States and UTs for rural development programs; and (d) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a) & (b): The Ministry of Rural Development(MoRD) has adopted multi-pronged strategies to improve the economic well-being of people in rural areas with the main focus on increasing livelihood opportunities, empowering rural women, providing social safety net skilling of rural youth, infrastructure development etc. through its schemes/programmes in rural areas of the country including in the State of Tripura. In this regard, MoRD is implementing a number of targeted schemes/programmes such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY G), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), DeenDayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Rural Self Employment Training Institutes(RSETIs), National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Watershed Development Component (WDC) of the Pradhan MantriKrishiSinchayeeYojana(PMKSY). Page 1 of 2At present, there is no plan to introduce new schemes for rural development particularly in the State of Tripura. However, it is also mentioned that in December, 2025, Parliament has passed the Viksit Bharat—Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB GRAM-G) Act, 2025. This Act, which will replace MGNREGA, aims to provide 125 days of unskilled wage employment in rural areas of States/UTs including in the State of Tripura. (c) & (d): Allocation of funds to the States/UTs is a continuous process. Funds are allocated/released to State Governments taking into account the balance of funds available with the States, submission of requisite documents / utilization certificate as per schematic requirements, ensuring proper utilization of funds already allocated under the schemes and ensuring strict adherence of the schematic guidelines and assessing the actual requirement at the ground level. ***** Page 2 of 2
