Shri Dulu Mahato: Shri Jagdambika Pal: Dr. Vinod Kumar Bind: Shri Naba Charan Majhi: Shri Krishna Prasad Tenneti: Shri Avimanyu Sethi: Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) whether there is any component under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) to enhance the availability of trained masons for accelerating construction work under PMAY- G for rural houses; (b) if so, the progress made under this component and the number of rural masons trained to date, State-wise including Uttar Pradesh; (c) whether any candidates in Uttar Pradesh have been certified as Rural Masons through the Rural Mason Training (RMT) programme through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), State and UT-wise including Uttar Pradesh; and (d) if so, the details of the rural masons trained and the candidates certified under RMT/RPL, State and district-wise including Uttar Pradesh? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (DR. CHANDRA SEKHAR PEMMASANI) (a): The Ministry of Rural Development has launched the Rural Mason Training (RMT) programme under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) to enhance the availability of skilled masons for the construction of quality PMAY-G houses. The initiative Page 1 of 6also contributes towards the availability of a skilled workforce for the construction of rural infrastructure under different schemes and facilitates livelihood opportunities for the rural workforce. The RMT programme under PMAY-G has been rolled out in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), with a target to train adequate number of masons. As of 09.12.2025, under RMT programme, 3,81,986 candidates have been enrolled, of which 3,08,330 have been certified, and States/ UTs have reported improved timeliness and quality of construction under PMAY-G as a result. In addition to the on-site training model, a parallel RMT initiative has been introduced from FY 2025-26 through the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) operating under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development to broaden outreach and strengthen livelihood opportunities. The RSETI model offers a structured training environment with a standardised curriculum and hands-on practical exposure, thereby reinforcing the mason skilling ecosystem and improving access to local employment for trained candidates. As on 30.11.2025, a total of 8,048 candidates have been certified through this initiative. (b): The State-wise number of rural masons enrolled and trained as on 09.12.2025, including the State of Uttar Pradesh may be seen at Annexure – I. (c): The number of rural masons certificed under the RMT programme through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), State and UT-wise may be seen at Annexure – II.
