ANSWER
THE MINISTER OF STATE FOR AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE
(SHRI RAMNATH THAKUR)
(a) to (d): Government of India is implementing a comprehensive range of Central Sector as
well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes and programmes for the welfare of farmers. These
schemes encompass entire spectrum of agriculture including credit, insurance, income support,
infrastructure, crops including horticulture, seeds, mechanization, marketing, organic and
natural farming, farmer collectives, irrigation, extension, procurement of crops from farmers
at minimum support prices and digital agriculture. The list of schemes providing subsidies and
other benefits to farmers implemented by Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
(DA&FW) is attached as Annexure I.
Details of amount spent and subsidies disbursed in schemes being implemented by
DA&FW in last three year is given in Annexure II.
In several schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), Pradhan
Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), the financial assistance and subsidies are transferred
directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)
mechanism to ensure transparency, reduce leakages, and provide timely benefits to farmers.
The Government is continuously reviewing these schemes and taking steps to expand DBT
coverage wherever feasible, in consultation with State Governments and other stakeholders.ANNEXURE I
