SCHEMES IMPLEMENTED FOR WELFARE OF FARMERS

Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state :
(a) the types of schemes currently being implemented for the welfare of farmers, the details
thereof, scheme-wise as per Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes (DAPSC);
(b) the amount spent and lapsed on the said schemes annually during the last five years;
(c) the amount disbursed as subsidies under these schemes during the last three years; and
(d) whether Government is considering transferring the expenditure/subsidies under these
schemes directly to the farmers' bank accounts?

(a) & (b): List of schemes implemented by Department of Agriculture & Farmers
Welfare (DA & FW) for the welfare of farmers as is attached as Annexure I. The details of
fund allocated, utilized including subsidies and unutilized under Development Action Plan
for Scheduled Castes (DAPSC) to the DA&FW for the last five years i.e. from 2020-21 to
2024-25 is as under:

Mission for Integrated Development on Horticulture(MIDH), Sub-Mission on Agricultural
Mechanization(SMAM), oil extraction units in National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil
Seeds(NMEO-OS), Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure component of Integrated Scheme
for Agriculture Marketing (ISAM) etc. The subsidies are included in overall allocation &
expenditure as at (b) above.
(d): In several schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN),
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and input support for NMNF, the financial
assistance/subsidies are transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers under
the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism to ensure transparency, reduce leakages, and
provide timely benefits to farmers.ANNEXURE I
