SCHEMES TO INCREASE FARMERS’ INCOME IN TRIPURA
1618. SHRI RAJIB BHATTACHARJEE:
Will the Minister of AGRICULTURE AND FARMERS WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the Central schemes implemented in Tripura during the last one year with the objective
of increasing farmers’ income;
(b) the number of farmers who have been benefited under the said schemes; and
(c) the manner in which the increase in farmers’ income has been assessed as a result of
these schemes?

(a) to (c): Government of India is implementing a comprehensive range of Central Sector as
well as Centrally Sponsored Schemes to increase the farmers’ income in the country including
Tripura. The major Central schemes/ programmes implemented for increasing farmers’ income
and the development of agriculture Sector in India including Tripura are as under:-

2. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana (PM-KMY)
3. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)/ Restructured Weather Based Crop

6. National Bee Keeping and Honey Mission (NBHM)

Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), 4.09 lakh crore has been
disbursed to eligible farmer families across the country through 21 instalments. In respect of,
Tripura till date, Rs. 937.32 Cr. has been disbursed through 21 instalments. Of this, Rs. 42.07
Cr was disbursed to 2,10,333 beneficiaries during the 21st instalment.
Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), from 2016-17 to 2025-26 (as on
30.12.2025), Tripura has insured 14.7 lakh farmer applications, covering 2.8 lakh hectares of
cropped area, with a total sum insured of ₹1,998.9 crore.
Under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region
(MOVCDNER), Tripura has brought 20,258.1 hectares under organic cultivation, engaging
25,753 farmers and forming 42 FPOs/FPCs.These schemes are contributing to enhance farmers’ income including those in Tripura
as evident from the following;
Indian Council on Agricultural Research (ICAR) has released a compilation of success
stories of 75,000 farmers who have increased their income more than two times by
convergence of schemes of DA&FW and the allied Ministries/Departments.
As per NSSO Survey on House hold Consumption Expenditure (2023-24), a
comparison of the estimates of all-India average Monthly Per Capita Consumption
Expenditure (MPCE) is as under:
