(a) the number of schools selected under the PM-SHRI scheme (Pradhan Mantri Schools for
Rising India) sanctioned, approved and made operational across the country including Ranga
Reddy and Vikarabad districts of Telangana and State of Rajasthan including Dausa Lok
Sabha Parliamentary Constituency since the launch;
(b) the criteria adopted for selection of schools under PM SHRI scheme in these districts and
whether rural, tribal and educationally backward mandals of Vikarabad district along with
priority to the tribal Lok Sabha Constituency of Dausa, Rajasthan have been adequately
covered under the scheme;
(c) the amount of funds sanctioned/released and spent/utilised and pending for infrastructure
upgradation, modernization, smart classrooms, skill-based education and green infrastructure,
teacher training and digital learning facilities in PM SHRI schools in these districts;
(d) whether the Government has assessed the impact of PM SHRI schools on learning
outcomes, enrolment and reduction of dropout rates in the said districts and if so, the details
thereof; and
(e) the progress made in implementing the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP)
2020 in PM SHRI schools along with the details of plans of the Government to develop other
general schools also according to this model?

(a) & (b): The centrally sponsored scheme of PM SHRI was approved by Cabinet on 7th
September, 2022. Subsequent to the approval, a total of 13,076 PM SHRI schools have been
selected from 33 States/UTs along with KVS/NVS/NCERT in seven phases of selection
process. Further, a total of 41 and 30 PM SHRI schools have been selected from Ranga Reddy
and Vikarabad districts of Telangana, respectively. Further, 639 PM SHRI schools have been
selected from the State of Rajasthan out of which, as informed by the State, 17 PM SHRI
schools are from the Dausa Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituency. Further, the list of PM
SHRI schools across the country may be accessed on the website of PM SHRI scheme at the
link: https://pmshri.education.gov.in/state.Under PM SHRI scheme, a maximum of two schools per block/ULB are selected with
an upper limit on the total number of schools across India. Further, the criteria adopted by the

(d): Dropout rate is the proportion of pupil from a cohort enrolled in a given level at a given
school year who are no longer enrolled at any grade in the following school year. The data

(e): In alignment with the National Education Policy, 2020, PM SHRI scheme has a
provision to saturate PM SHRI schools across the country with 21 NEP components such as
computer lab/ICT lab/smart classrooms, library with good furniture, internet facility,
vocational skill education, guidance and career counselling, fully equipped integrated science
lab/physics lab/chemistry lab/biology lab, playground with well-equipped sports facilities,
school innovation council, youth and eco club for mission life, BaLa features and jaadui pitara
for primary school children, 10 bagless days for students, child tracking software for tracking
the children attendance, fully functioning handwashing facility and toilets, green school
features etc. So far, PM SHRI schools have achieved 91% saturation under above mentioned
components. These PM SHRI schools are to showcase all the initiatives of National Education
Policy (NEP) 2020, be the exemplar schools, and also offer benchmarking leadership to other
schools in the neighbourhood.
