The scheme aims to develop homestays in tribal areas to promote responsible tourism and enhance livelihood opportunities for tribal communities.
The scheme provides financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh for village community requirements, up to ₹5 lakh for the construction of two new rooms per household, and up to ₹3 lakh for the renovation of existing rooms per household. Projects amounting to ₹17.52 crore have been approved under the scheme, but no funds have been released yet. No proposal has been received under the scheme for the development of tribal homestays within the Sidhi Lok Sabha constituency.

Will the Minister of TOURISM be pleased to state:
(a) the facilities being provided to the tribal and other people for
building/setting up homestay facilities for convenience of tourists in the
Tiger Reserve areas;
(b) the financial support being accrued to tribal and other poor people
regarding this;
(c) the number of home stays built in the vicinity of Sanjay Dubri Tiger
Reserve in Sidhi Lok Sabha Constituency;
(d) the details of assistance provided by the Government to the people
developing homestays facilities; and
(e) the number of people benefited from the said assistance in Sidhi Lok
