Parliament Question: Setting up of Integrated Vaccine Complex

ANSWER THE MINISTER OFSTATE IN THE MINISTRYOFHEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE (SHRIPRATAPRAO JADHAV) (a) to (d): The Government of India had approved for setting up of an Integrated Vaccine Complex (IVC) Project, HLL Biotech Ltd. (HBL) at Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. Efforts were made by the Government of India to explore various options for operationalizing HBL for vaccine manufacture. Accordingly, Expression of Interest, Requests for Proposals and proposals under the Public Private Partnership model were floated during the period 2020- 2022.However, thougha few companies initiallyshowed interest, but theydidnot participate inthe biddingprocess. Commercial productionhasnot yet commenced. *****
