Parliament Question: Setting up of Trauma Centres in Bihar

ANSWER THE MINISTER OFHEALTH AND FAMILYWELFARE (SHRIJAGATPRAKASH NADDA) (a) to(d)AStatementislaid onthe Tableof the House.STATEMENTREFERRED TO IN REPLYTOLOK SABHA STARREDQUESTION NO. 292*FOR7TH AUGUST,2026 (a) to(d) Under the “National Programme for Prevention& Management of Trauma andBurn Injuries” (NPPMT&BI), 196 Trauma Care Facilities (TCFs) were sanctioned in Government Hospitals/ Medical Collegesacross the country.Out of 196,09 TCFswere sanctioned inBihar (Annexure- I). Health is a State subject. It is primary responsibility of the State to strengthen Trauma Care Facilities in the State. As reported by the State, the Government of Bihar has established a network of notified trauma centers to strengthen trauma care services. At present, allMedical Colleges& Hospitals were notified as Level-II Trauma Centre and all District Hospitals, including District Hospitals Banka was notified as Level-III Trauma Center vide Notification dated 30.12.2020 to provide Trauma care facilities.In additionto provide Trauma facilitiesto injuredpersons inroadaccidents,State Government has identified 11 Public Health Facilities as Level-III Trauma Centre which are located near National highways invariousdistrict of Bihar including CommunityHealthCentre,Rajaun,Banka,Bihar.Annexure –I Trauma Care Facilitiesset upin Bihar underNPPMT&BI (i) Civil Hospital, Kishanganj (ii) District Hospital, Purnia (iii) Civil Hospital, Madhepura (iv) Darbhanga Medical College Hospital, Darbhanga (v) S.K.Medical College Hospital, Muzaffarpur (vi) Civil Hospital, Gopalganj (vii) Civil Hospital, Jhanjharpur (viii) SadarHospital, Sasaram,Rohtas (ix) ANMagadh Medical College Hospital, Gaya -------------- *****
