SIMPLIFICATION OF RENEWAL OF ENTRY PASSES FOR MPs’
PERSONAL STAFF BY BCAS AT IGIA
4019. DR. M. THAMBIDURAI
Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) whether Personal Assistants (PAs), Personal Secretaries (PSs) and other authorised staff
of Members of Parliament are required to renew their airport entry passes every year for
access to Indira Gandhi International Airport and other airports;
(b) whether Government is aware that for renewal of these passes the staff members have to
visit the office of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security near the airport multiple times, which
causes inconvenience and loss of time; and
(c) whether Government proposes to simplify this procedure by issuing airport entry passes
for a longer duration, such as two or three years, for authorised staff of Members of
Parliament?
ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar
Mohol)
(a) to (c): As per Aerodrome Entry Permit (AEP) Guidelines, 2022, AEPs can be issued to the
persons recommended by the Member of Parliament for a period of validity with a minimum
of 31 days and a maximum of three (03) years from the date of issue/renewal. Individuals are
required to visit the BCAS Office only for their biometric verification.
