Dr. K Sudhakar: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) the number of sports infrastructure constructed in Karnataka during the last five years and the current year, district-wise especially for Chikkaballapur; (b) the total funds allocated and utilized for promotion of activities for youth during the said period, year and district-wise; (c) the details of ongoing, pending and proposed projects in the State, along with their estimated budgets and timelines of their completion; (d) whether grants and support are being given to youth clubs across the State especially for Chikkaballapur and if so, the details thereof; (e) the details of the steps being taken by the Government to ensure the monitoring of sports infrastructure; and (f) the steps taken for providing sports equipments to schools of Chikkaballapur and across Karnataka? MANSUKH MANDAVIYA } (a) The details of the sports infrastructure sanctioned under Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), across the country, including in the State of Karnataka, during the last five years and the current year are available in public domain on the dashboard of the Ministry at https://mdsd.kheloindia.gov.in and http://www.nsdf.yas.gov.in/nsdf- glance.html, respectively. Page 1 of 3(b) District-wise details of funds allocated and utilized for promotion of activities for youth by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in the State of Karnataka during the last five years and the current year are at Annexure – I. (c) The details of ongoing sports infrastructure projects sanctioned under Khelo India Scheme and National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), across the country, including in the State of Karnataka, during the last five years and the current year are available in public domain on the dashboard of the Ministry at https://mdsd.kheloindia.gov.in and http://www.nsdf.yas.gov.in/nsdf-glance.html, respectively. Receipt of proposals under the Khelo India Scheme and NSDF is a continuous process. The timeline of completion of infrastructure projects sanctioned under the Scheme is two years from the date of its sanction. The responsibility of executing the projects rests with the grantee. (d) There is no provision for giving grants to Youth Clubs by the NYKS. (e) This Ministry continuously reviews the progress of the sanctioned projects by way of regular review meetings with grantees, visit of project monitoring committee to the site of the projects to assess actual physical progress and getting Utilization Certificates (UCs) of the released funds to ensure timely completion of the projects. (f) The Ministry of Education, through the Samagra Shiksha, Integrated Scheme for School Education, is promoting inclusive and equitable quality education alongside holistic child development, including sports and physical education. Under this scheme, government schools across the country, including in the State of Karnataka, receive annual financial grants to procure sports equipment, which are ₹5,000 for primary schools, ₹10,000 for upper primary, and ₹25,000 for secondary and senior secondary schools. Additionally, schools are eligible for an extra grant of up to ₹25,000 if at least two students win medals in the Khelo India Games, encouraging competitive sports. In the financial year 2025-26, ₹3,011.15 lakh has been sanctioned for Karnataka under the Sports and Physical Education component of Samagra Shiksha to support these initiatives.
