STATUS OF AIRPORTS UNDER UDAN

Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:-
(a) the number and details of airports developed, revived or made operational under the
UDAN scheme in each State/UT, along with the year of commencement of operations and
the expenditure incurred;
(b) the details of airports that have ceased or temporarily discontinued flight operations, along
with the State/UT, year of commencement, year of discontinuation and the reasons for
cessation;
(c) the details of the expenditure incurred on those airports where flight operations have
ceased or remain non-operational; and
(d) the number of passengers handled at each airport operationalised under the UDAN
scheme, airport-wise and year-wise since commencement of operations?
ANSWER
Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar
Mohol)
(a) Under the Regional Connectivity Scheme - Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (RCS-UDAN), as
on 28.02.2026, 95 unserved and underserved airports (including 17 heliports and 02 water
aerodromes) have been developed and operationalised. The State-wise details, along with the
expenditure incurred, are placed at Annexure I.
(b) & (c): The details of airports where flights are temporarily discontinued is placed at
Annexure II. A total of Rs. 831.33 Cr. has been incurred towards the development of the said
airports.
(d): As on 28.02.2026, a total of 663 routes have been operationalised, carrying over 162
lakhs domestic passengers on more than 3.41 lakh RCS flights under the RCS-UDAN.

aircraft availability.
5. Karnataka Kalaburgi 22.11.201 08.10.202 Regarding commencement of
9 5 operations from Kalaburagi, it
is submitted that the airport will
be considered in forthcoming
rounds of bidding in
accordance with the provisions
of the UDAN Scheme.
6. Madhya Datia 31.05.202 20.10.202 FlyBig assigned and novated
Pradesh 5 5 its contractual rights and
obligations under RCS to
Skyhop for operating these
flights. The airline is expected
to commence operations on
these routes subject to
obtaining the Air Operator
Certificate (AOC) and
acquiring the intended aircraft.
7. Ludhiana 02.09.201 26.09.202 FlyBig assigned and
7 5 novated its contractual
Punjab rights and obligations under
RCS to Skyhop for
operating these flights. Theairline is expected to
commence operations on
these routes from Halwara
Airport instead of
Ludhiana subject to
obtaining the Air Operator
Certificate (AOC) and
acquiring the intended
aircraft.
8. Pathankot 05.04.201 28.02.202 Under UDAN 5.4, Letter of
8 2 Intent has been issued on
11.07.2025 for Pathankot–
Delhi–Pathankot route with 80-
seater aircraft to JettWings.
Airline yet to submit firm
proposal on readiness.
9. Sikkim Pakyong 04.10.201 09.06.202 Shortage of suitable aircraft
8 4 due to terrain & weather
challenges.
10. Kushinaga 26.11.202 04.11.202 RCS route connecting
