STATUS OF EXTENSION OF PRADHAN MANTRI KRISHI SINCHAI YOJANA

Will the Minister of JAL SHAKTI be pleased to state:
(a) whether the extension of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana has been sanctioned;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the quantum of funds sanctioned for expenditure under the Scheme for the financial year 2025–26; and
(d) the number of farmers currently benefiting from the Scheme?

(a) & (b) Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) was launched during the year 2015-16,
with an aim to enhance physical access of water on farm and expand cultivable area under assured
irrigation, improve on-farm water use efficiency, introduce sustainable water conservation practices, etc.
The extension of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana for implementation during the period of
2021-22 to 2025-26 has been approved by Government of India in December’2021.
(c) & (d) The details of funds sanctioned (mother sanction issued) and central assistance availed under
different components of PMKSY during financial year 2025-26 is as follows.

Farmers targetted to be benefitted from the projects undertaken in Accelerated Irrigation

Management Programme has been estimated as 200.81 lakh.
