GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION RAJYA SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. : 164 TO BE ANSWERED ON THE 2nd February 2026 STATUS OF FINAL INVESTIGATION REPORT OF AIRCRAFT CRASH IN GUJARAT 164. DR. V. SIVADASAN Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state:- (a) whether it is a fact that the final investigation report of the aircraft crash that occurred in the State of Gujarat in June, 2025 has not yet been made public, even after several months of the incident; (b) whether a preliminary report was issued and, if so, the key findings emerging from it; (c) the specific reasons for the delay in publishing the final report; (d) whether any interim safety advisories or corrective measures have been issued to airlines based on preliminary findings and if so, the details thereof; and (e) the definite timeline by when the final report will be placed in the public domain? ANSWER Minister of State in the Ministry of CIVIL AVIATION (Shri Murlidhar Mohol) (a) to (e):The Investigation of accident of Air India flight AI-171 at Ahmedabad by Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is under progress. The investigation is being carried out as per the ICAO Annex 13 document and Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incident) Rules, 2025. All probable causes leading to accident are being investigated and all efforts are being made to complete the investigation in a time bound manner. A preliminary report on the accident has been published by AAIB on 12.07.2025 and is available on their website www.aaib.gov.in. The report contains factual information based on the evidence available at that point of time and does not include any interim safety recommendations. ******
