Shri Santosh Pandey: Will the Minister of EDUCATION be pleased to state: (a) the details of the status of implementation of the PM SHRI scheme till December 2025, State/UT-wise; (b) whether each of the State Government has signed any Memorandum of Understanding with the Union Government for the implementation of the said scheme and if so, the details thereof; and (c) the total amount of funds allotted to Chhattisgarh under the said scheme, district-wise? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION (SHRI JAYANT CHAUDHARY) (a): Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) is a centrally sponsored scheme which aims to strengthen more than 14,500 schools across the country out of which 13,076 schools have been selected as PM SHRI schools as of December 2025 from 33 States/UTs along with KVS/NVS/NCERT. The State/UT/KVS/NVS/NCERT-wise number of schools selected under PM SHRI scheme is attached as Annexure I. (b): Under PM SHRI scheme, a total of 34 States/UTs have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and only 2 States are yet to sign the MoU which are Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The State/UT/date-wise list on which State/UT signed the MoU with the Union Government for the implementation of the PM SHRI scheme is attached as Annexure II. (c): Education is a subject in the concurrent list of the Constitution. Under PM SHRI scheme, States/UTs submit proposal by identifying the gaps at the school level. The component wise proposal submitted by the States/UTs are appraised and sanctioned by the Project Approval Board (PAB) in consultation with the States/UTs according to financial and programmatic norms and provision available. Fund release is done as a whole for the States/UTs with legislature. District-wise and school-wise allocation is done by the States/UTs.
