(a) the number of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) currently operational in Andhra Pradesh,
district-wise, along with their host institutions;
(b) the key research projects, demonstrations, and field trails undertaken by each KVK in
the past three years;
(c) the central schemes being implemented through KVKs in Andhra Pradesh, including
targets and outcomes;
(d) whether the Government has undertaken any performance review or impact evaluation
of KVKs in the State, and if so, the findings thereof;
(e) whether there is any proposal to upgrade existing KVKs or set up new ones in
uncovered districts especially in Kakinada; and
(f) the total funds allocated, released, and utilised for KVKs in Andhra Pradesh during the
last five years, year and district-wise?

(a): In all, 23 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) are currently operational in Andhra Pradesh.
Their district-wise distribution and their host institutions are given in Annexure-I.
1(b): Year-wise details of On Farm Trials, Frontline demonstrations, and projects namely,
Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) and National Innovations in Climate
Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) undertaken by the KVKs of Andhra Pradesh in the past three
years are given in Annexure-II.
(c): KVKs in Andhra Pradesh are implementing central schemes namely, Cluster Frontline
Demonstrations (CFLDs) on Pulses, Model Pulse Village, Cluster Frontline Demonstrations
(CFLDs) on Oilseeds, Oilseeds Model Village under NFSM, Special Project on Cotton and
Popularization of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM). The targets and outcomes of these
schemes during the year 2024-25 are given in Annexure-III.
(d): Third Party evaluation of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) including those of Andhra
Pradesh was carried out by Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals, New Delhi in 2020.
Major findings of the evaluation were as below:
• On an average, KVK outreach found to be around 90-100 villages. With its strong ICT
interventions, the outreach to villages increases to even 200 villages per KVK.
• Outreach programs of KVKs increased manifold from 2012-13 to 2019-20. On Farm
Trials increased by 51%, Frontline Demonstrations by 61%, farmers’ training by 16% and
extension personnel training increased by 35%.
• There is increase in proportion of farm women in trainings from 30% in 2012-13 to 37%
in 2019-20.
• Similarly, number of short message sent increased by 142% and number of the farmers
covered increased by 135% due to more use of the digital platforms such as WhatsApp group,
Facebook group etc. during the said period
• There is 32% increase in seed production and 117% increase in planting material
production by the KVKs during the said period.
(e): Opening of New KVKs in newly created districts is a continuous process as per the
prescribed procedure and guidelines.
(f): The total funds allocated, released, and utilised for KVKs in Andhra Pradesh during the
last five years, year and district-wise is given in Annexure-IV.
