The Union Cabinet has also approved the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme to further support employment generation, employability, and social security, particularly in the manufacturing sector.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment operates the National Career Service (NCS) Portal (www.ncs.gov.in), a digital platform offering career-related services such as job postings (from both private and government sectors), information on job fairs, job search matching, career counseling, vocational guidance, and skill development course information. Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the details of the steps taken by the Government to eliminate
unemployment in the country;
(b) whether the Government has taken any initiatives to digitise job
demand and supply at the national level;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) the details of the objective of setting up the National Career
Service (NCS) portal along with the vacancies filled up gender,
State/UT-wise; and
(e) the details of the scope and extent of listing of jobs on it?

(a) to (e): Employment generation coupled with improving employability
is a priority of the Government. Accordingly, Government is
implementing various employment generation schemes/ programmes.
These inter-alia include Prime Minister’s Employment Generation
Programme (PMEGP), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment
Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National
Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen
Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Rural Self Employment and Training
Institutes (RSETIs), Deen Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban
Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi
(PM SVANidhi), Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), etc. The details of
various employment generation schemes/programmes being

been implementing its flagship scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas
Yojana (PMKVY), since 2015 to impart skill development training through
Short-Term Training (STT) and up-skilling and re-skilling through
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to youth across the country with the
aim to enhance the employability of youth by equipping them with
industry relevant skills.
In addition, the Union Cabinet has approved the Employment
Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme to support employment generation,
enhance employability and social security across all sectors, with
special focus on the manufacturing sector.
Further, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India,
is running the National Career Service (NCS) Portal which is a one-stop
solution for providing career related services including jobs from private
and government sectors, information on online & offline job fairs, job
search & matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, information
on skill development courses, employability enhancement programmes
etc. through a digital platform [www.ncs.gov.in].
Notifying final hiring figure is not mandatory requirement on NCS
Portal. However, as on 10.07.2025, more than 6.3 Crore vacancies have
