Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government has any new schemes and training
schedules and special schemes for the athletes to perform
exceedingly well in the next two Olympics schedule in Los Angeles,
USA in 2028 and Brisbane, Australia in 2032;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the preparatory road map for the
upcoming Olympics;
(c) whether India has expressed interests to conduct Summer
Olympics in 2036 and if so, the details thereof; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) to (b): The Government of India implements the following two
important schemes in close coordination with the National Sports
Federations to support the elite sportspersons for all their
upcoming international tournaments including the Olympics in
2028 Los Angeles, USA and 2032 Brisbane, Australia.
Assistance to National Sports Federations (ANSF):Financial assistance is provided to recognized National Sports
Federations (NSFs) for training of elite athletes, exposure
competitions, engagement of foreign coaches/support staff,
equipment and other High-Performance related activities.
Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS):
Under TOPS, customized support is extended to identified athletes
with proven medal potential for Olympics and Paralympics. This
includes foreign/Indian training, international competitions, sports
science support, equipment, out-of-pocket allowance and support
staff.
(c) to (d): Bidding to host the Olympic Games in India is the
responsibility of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and allotment
of hosting rights for the Olympics is done by the International Olympic
Committee (IOC) through a detailed host selection process.
The host selection process is available in public domain on IOC

letter of intent to IOC. The bid is now in the “Continuous Dialogue”
