(a) the steps taken by the Government in the last five years to support and encourage
farmers in Tiruchirappalli and Pudukottai districts of Tamil Nadu;
(b) whether the Government has introduced or implemented any special schemes or
initiatives focused on improving agricultural productivity, irrigation, crop diversification,
or organic farming in these districts;
(c) whether there are any proposals to establish agri-related infrastructure such as
cold storage units, processing centres, soil testing labs, or farmer producer
organisations (FPOs) in the Tiruchirappalli region;
(d) the details of support extended under central schemes such as PM-KISAN,
PMFBY, PMKSY, and Kisan Credit Card to farmers in these two districts; and
(e) the details of future plans to set up farmer welfare facilities or agri-clusters in the
Tiruchirappalli region to ensure sustainable and profitable farming?

(a) to (e): Agriculture is a state subject. Government of India is implementing a
comprehensive range of central sector as well as centrally sponsored schemes to
support the States for welfare of farmers. The list of the schemes implemented by the
Government to support States in agriculture, including Tamil Nadu, is attached as
Annexure I. These schemes focus on agricultural productivity, crop diversification and
sustainable agriculture.In 19th instalment of PM-KISAN an amount of Rs17.60 crore was disbursed to
83,401 beneficiaries in Pudukkottai district while Rs 21.96 crore was disbursed to
1,03,607 beneficiaries in Tiruchirappalli district.
Under Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), to ensure availability of agricultural credit, Rs. 55,
120.96 crore of credit was extended to 40,38,150 KCC accounts during 2024-25 in
Tamil Nadu including these two districts.
Under Per Drop More Crop (PDMC), for enhanced water efficiency, Central
Assistance of Rs. 2,953.38 crore has been released/sanctioned to Tamil Nadu since
2015-16 for implementation of PDMC. During this period, total area of 12.64 lakh
hectare has been covered under Micro Irrigation through the scheme in the State of
Tamil Nadu. The area covered under Micro Irrigation during last five years in
Tiruchirappalli district is 21,506.58 hectare and in Pudukkottai district is 19,401.62
hectare.
Under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), for risk mitigation of farmers,
the data from 2020-21 till June, 2025, is as follows:-

The Government is promoting organic farming through Parampargat Krishi Vikas
Yojana (PKVY) scheme. Since its inception in 2015-16, total of Rs 62.37 Cr has been
released (as on 30.06.25) to the State of Tamil Nadu, covering an area of 32940 ha
and 37886 farmers. The district-wise information is not maintained centrally.
In order to address the infrastructure gaps and mobilize investment in agriculture,
Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) was launched under Aatmanirbhar Bharat
Package. For the state of Tamil Nadu, as on 30th June2025, Rs. 2,691 Crores have
been sanctioned for 7,995 projects under AIF. The total project cost for these
sanctioned projects is Rs.3,708 crores. Under AIF, 324 projects amounting to Rs.207
crores, have been sanctioned in Tiruchirappalli district and 193 projects, amounting to
Rs.86 crores, have been sanctioned in Pudukkottai District of Tamil NaduAnnexure I
