(a) whether the Government has developed employment-oriented, vocational development courses
to enhance skills and career opportunities for students and working professionals, if so, the
details thereof;
(b) the details of steps taken by the Government to make available the abovesaid courses in various
Indian languages;
(c) whether the industry has also contributed in developing the said courses, if so, the details
thereof;
(d) whether there is any proposal to encourage the use of AI in the Study Webs of Active Learning
for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) Plus portal to achieve the said objectives, if so, the
details thereof; and
(e) the details of the number of students registered so far through the SWAYAM Plus portal to
achieve the said objectives, State/UT-wise?

(a) to (e): The Government of India has framed the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with an
aim to provide holistic, multidisciplinary, flexible and student-centric education which promotes
lifelong learning and integration of technology in education delivery. NEP also places emphasis on
integrating skill development with mainstream education by greater industry-academic linkages,
practical, and hands-on learning.
In alignment with the vision of NEP, to enhance employability of the learners, the Ministry of
Education, in collaboration with IIT Madras and eminent Industry Partners, has launched the
SWAYAM Plus platform in February 2024.The platform offers 504 employability-focused courses.
These offerings have been curated from 92 industry partners across more than 15 sectors, including
Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductor Manufacturing, BFSI, Healthcare,
Advanced Manufacturing, Management, Hospitality, and Indian Knowledge Systems.
Additionally, the ‘AI for All’ courses have been developed by experts from the IIT Madras for various
domains such as biology, chemistry, accounting etc. These courses have received over 90,000registrations in the first two batches. Further, to widen access and inclusion, SWAYAM Plus has
onboarded more than 70 courses in Indian languages. Since its inception, the platform has registered
an enrolment of over 4.71 lakh learners by December 2025.
