Will the Ministerof HEALTH andFAMILYWELFAREbe pleased tostate:
(a) whether telemedicine services are beingprovidedinremote border areasof the country;
(b) if so, the detailsthereof,State-wise, includingRajasthan;
(c) whether telemedicine facilities have been extended to border villages in Barmer district,
if so, the detailsthereof; and
(d) the measures taken or proposed to be taken by the Government to strengthen digital
healthinfrastructure and specialist healthcareaccessinsuch areas?
ANSWER

(a) to (d): Yes, eSanjeevani is providing free teleconsultation services to all States/UTs and
districts of thecountryincludingremote border areasofthe country.The State/UTwisedetailsof
teleconsultationsundereSanjeevaniareatAnnexure.
Asof19thJuly,2026,eSanjeevanihasservedover20,558patientsinBarmerdistrictofRajasthan.
The service is operational through a network of 194 health facilities (spokes), supported by 82
hubs and over 374 healthcare providers, including doctors, specialists, super-specialists, and
frontlinehealthworkers,ensuringseamlessaccesstoqualityhealthcare.
The Ministry has implemented various measures to strengthen telemedicine infrastructure and
improve access to specialist healthcare services across the country through the eSanjeevani
National Telemedicine Service, including at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and health
facilities in rural, remote, tribal, hilly and border areas. These measures include regular training
and capacity-building programmes for doctors, specialists, healthcare workers and other
stakeholderstoensureeffectiveutilizationoftheplatform.
Further, the platform enables consultations with specialist and super-specialist doctors and is
integrated with an AI-based Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) to support clinical
decision-makingandimprovethequalityandconsistencyofcare.
