GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1176 TO BE ANSWERED ON 27.07.2026 TIME-BOUND DISPOSAL OF CASES IN ESIC †1176. SHRI RAJESH RANJAN: Will the Minister of LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT be pleased to state: (a)whether a number of the appeals filed against departmental penalties along with number of the cases pertaining to the increment of wages in the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) across all States/UTs of the country, particularly in the Delhi- NCR region are pending at various levels over a long period of time; (b)if so, the number of such pending appeals and wage increment cases at present along with the number of such cases that have been pending for over one year; (c)whether the Government has fixed any time-limit or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the time-bound disposal of departmental appeals and wage increment related cases; and (d)if so, the steps being taken by the Government for speedy, fair and time-bound disposal of such pending cases? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT (SUSHRI SHOBHA KARANDLAJE) (a) to (d): At present, a total of 39 appeals against departmental penalties are pending in Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). Out of these, 34 appeals are pending for over one year and 17 appeals pertain to Delhi NCR region. Regular reviews are undertaken by the Ministry for speedy and fair disposal of these cases. *****
