UNIVERSALIMMUNIZATION PROGRAMME IN CHHATTISGARH

Will the Minister of HEALTHANDFAMILYWELFARE be pleasedtostate:
(a) The progress made so far under the Universal Immunisation Programme in Chhattisgarh,
particularlyinthe Bastar ParliamentaryConstituency;
(b) the details of immunisation coverage and the number of fully immunized children and pregnant
women, alongwith the newvaccines recentlyincludedinthe programme inthe State, district-wise;
(c) whether any special action plan has been implemented by the Union Government in
Chhattisgarh to strengthen pandemic preparedness, disease surveillance systems, laboratory
networks, health emergency response mechanisms and health services in tribal and remote areas,
based on the experiences gained during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the Bastar
Parliamentary constituency; and
(d) if so, the detailsthereof?
ANSWER

(a) The antigen wise coverage for Chhattisgarh and the districts of Bastar parliamentary
constituencyunderthe Universal Immunizationprogram isplacedinAnnexure-1.
(b) The district wise details of fully immunized children and pregnant women of the State of
Chhattisgarh isplacedinAnnexure 2.
The Nationwide HPV vaccination campaign was launched on 28th February 2026 for
identified and eligible beneficiary girls aged 14 years across all 36 States and Union
Territories. The HPV vaccine is delivered free of cost at designated government health
facilities, includingAyushman Arogya Mandirs- PrimaryHealth Centres(PHCs), Community
Health Centers (CHCs), Sub-District Hospitals (SDH)/District Hospitals (DHs) &
Government Medical Colleges (GMCs). Awareness generation is promoted through IEC
materials such as radio jingles, posters, banners, myth-busting digital content and social
media platforms to ensure high vaccine uptake among girls particularly in rural, tribal, and
urban slum areas. Training on HPV vaccination has been completed for medical and
paramedicalstaff across all36States/UTs inthe country.
(c) and (d) The measures taken in the State of Chhattisgarh including Bastar Parliamentary
Constituency are givenbelow:- Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM)
launched in 2021 strengthens public health infrastructure at the primary and secondary
levels of care, enhance capacity for disease surveillance, diagnostics, and research for
emerging and re-emerging diseases and develop a resilient health system capable of
responding effectively topublic healthemergencies.
Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) strengthened for carrying out
disease surveillance activities, has a decentralized system of response through trained
multi-disciplinary RapidResponse Teams(RRTs).
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) established a network of more than 160
Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratories (VRDLs) for laboratory based diagnosis of
pathogens.
Oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators & Liquid Medical Oxygen tanks supplied to
the States/UTs, along with establishment of Pressure Swing Adsorption plants (PSA)
plantsandMedical Gas Pipeline SystemsinStates/UTs.
To strengthen pandemic preparedness Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP),
Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Health Management Information
System (HMIS), Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) Portal and National Program for Non
Communicable Disease (NP-NCD) Portal are operational. These portals enable real-time
data collection, data analysis, data visualization and dissemination of epidemiological
informationtosupport early detectionof outbreaks.
